Group Work

Overall this exposure unit has been a good opportunity to work within a group. I enjoyed  partaking in group meetings and discussing peoples ideas in terms of the exhibition. I feel it was a possitive experience to work with my peers to create an exhibition. Even though the exhibition did not go ahead, I feel that it would have been a successful exhibition. As a team I though we worked well, each of us put in a lot of hard work to ensure that the exhibition wouldn’t have been a success. We arranged weekly group meetings to discuss ideas as well as frequent zoom meetings to insure we were all on track with group tasks. overall working in a group has been a positive experience, working in groups is an important thing when working in a creative industry. Collaborations are undoubtedly something that I will use in the future, so this unit was a great opportunity to practice working with other creatives.

Exhibition

Even though the exhibition at Nucleus Arts did not go ahead I am confident that it would have been a success. My personal layout for the exhibition consisted of a monitor, a plinth and a shelf attached to the plinth. This particular layout would not have taken up much room in the exhibition, I wanted my layout to be clean and minimalistic so my piece of moving image work would be central focus of my exhibit. It was important to me that my work was exhibited in a clean and uncluttered way, allowing the viewer to have an undisturbed view of work. The overall layout of exhibition in my opinion would have been a really effective use of the space. Even though the space at Nucleus Arts was small I believe to use of banners would have split up the space really nicely.

Major Project Proposal

I am really looking forward to starting my major project. My current idea (using music as portrait inspiration) is a really exciting idea to me. This idea makes the most sense to me currently, the project is something that has taken a lot of thought to come up with and is something that really interests me as a creative. Even if I don’t use this idea for my final major project it is definitely a project I will take part in outside of uni.
